This Is Stranger Than I Thought
It’s hardly relative, but a great opening line.
There was a point in my life that I wanted to write songs. I never really believed that I’d be able to sing them, I just wanted to write them.
I was sure I could, I mean lyrics aren’t difficult… It’s just a bunch of words strung together, simple words… I happen to know alot of simple words. I was sure it was my calling in life.
I never did write a song. I’m pretty sure I convinced myself that it was my complete lack of any kind of musical knowledge preventing my from completely this goal of mine.
So I decided to buy a guitar… I still need to buy that guitar.
Driving home tonight, I rocked out to The Cure. I came to a decision.
I’m going to buy that guitar. I’ll have the guitar by Saturday. And not because I’ve decided that it’s the most recent thing that my life is missing. But because Robert Smith expects if of me… I never want to let Robert Smith down…

Rock on, Joshua, rock on. Wait, if you learn how to play a guitar….does that mean you’re quitting our air band?

Start with an acoustic. I learned a lot more on my acoustic than I ever did on the electrics.
